In 1931, World War I veteran R.V. Anderson established a painting contractor company which provided brush and spray painting on “everything everywhere." R.V. Anderson Painting became an important part of construction and restoration in the Jamestown area and parts of Pennsylvania. Anderson and his crew painted the 3rd St Bridge in Jamestown (pictured at right), as well as Brooks Hall at Allegheny College. R.V. passed on his trade and his values to his son, Louis Anderson, and in 1982 Ideal Coatings, Inc. was born.
Today, Ideal Coatings is owned and operated by Louis and his son, Rodney Anderson. After more than 80 years, the Ideal crews are still working to provide high quality, attractive results to customers all throughout the Chautauqua region. We have expanded on R.V.'s original spray and brush painting to provide a wide variety of quality flooring, painting and cleaning services. In 1985 we completed our first large-scale application, preparing and coating 100,000 square feet of factory space that is still in service today. Since then, we have applied nearly 3 million square feet of floor coating. For more information on the types of services we provide, as well as a sample of jobs we've completed in the past, please visit our Services page.
